Header Troubleshooting

Having issues with automatic header populating in colleagues spreadsheet.

The file has one header on my machine, but when emailed and opened on the other end by my colleague their computer seems to auto populate an entirely different header on their spreadsheet. This happens with all of their spreadsheets. Auto populating with the same header.

Any advice on how to turn off this auto populating would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Header Troubleshooting

You need to explain how you are populating those headers, otherwise we are all just probably guessing.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: Header Troubleshooting

How these headers are being populated is what i am not sure about.

Lets say I have a spreadsheet and use 'Insert - Text - Header' and manually type 'Green Dog' in the top left Header cell.

When I send this spreadsheet (or any other spreadsheet) to my colleague and they open from their outlook the spreadsheet will then have the header 'Black Cat' in the top left cell.

This occurs for them on all spreadsheets of a similar nature.

Re: Header Troubleshooting

If you look in the lower right corner of your WS, you will see 3 small boxes, you probably have the middle 1 selected - if not, select that 1. Then remove the header text.

Re: Header Troubleshooting

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure this has done it though.

Is the middle of the three boxes you're talking about the 'page layout' selection? I have used this, and I am able to adjust the header for each spreadsheet if need be. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to stop this one colleague's machine from auto populating with the same header for every spreadsheet they open. Anyone else who opens the spreadsheet is greeted with the correct header. But i'm wondering if there is some preference that has been selected that is resulting in this same header being applied to all WSs.
