Extracting data from Pivot Table, loses integrity

Hi All,

This is a weird one and therefore could not find the words to search it on google, so will ask here.

I have a Pivot Table. Say A1 to A10 are part of the pivot table and have numbers 1 to 10 in them respectively.

Then in a cell elsewhere outside the Pivot I put the formula "=A10" to return "10".

This "10" however, has lost its integrity. For example if I type "=10=A10" it will return "FALSE". This also means I cannot work with this data with other formulas such as sumif etc.

Is there anyway to recover this integrity? (probably not using the right word, but you know what I mean)

If I paste special (value) it, it will work, however I need it to remain dynamic.
