Keep formatting in original cells. What are my options?

Maybe this is not possible, since when I Google it, there seems to be no answer, though Google does keep rephrasing my question, so I can't seem to get relevant results.

Anyhow, I have columns of data that expands from B to BG. For each roll, I have to move data between these columns (B-BG). I usually just copy and paste, but that is aggravating, because I have to scroll all the way back to where I copied it, and then delete it. And doing this constantly from a phone is frustrating. So you probably think I should be cutting instead of copying, but that's where the problem starts. If I cut, Excel assumes I want to remove the formatting of the cells, which I do not.

So, is there a way to cut and paste without affecting the formatting of the cell you're cutting from, or is there a way to copy and paste, and have Excel delete the original automatically?

It sounds to me as if you need to find a better way to organise your data so that you don't have to do the copying and deleting at all. What is the purpose of this?

The short answers are: no and no.

WRT to cut-and-paste: that's the way that Excel works. I don't see an option to change that.

WRT to copy-and-paste: what you ask for violates the common-sense meaning of "copy". What you describe is, in fact, "cut".

In a PC version, I would write a macro. But I'm not familiar with the features of phone versions of Excel.

As far as i know there is no way to keep formatting when cutting a cellvalue
I think using conditional formatting may help you here.

Make two rules on to be valid for empty cells and one for nonblank cells but both with the same formatting
This way the same format will be shown always.

Using an excel table may also help in keeping the format of the cells when you cut and paste within the same table

My bad, I should have never even mentioned the layout of my data. It just complicates things, and now puts the focus on the organization of my data rather than the actual issue/frustration I'm trying to resolve with cut and copy.

Cut, cuts everything, even formatting from the original cell. Copy, copies the cell formatting, thereby maintaining the format, but then you have to go back and delete the original. This has nothing to do with the way my data is organized. I've always been frustrated with this behavior in Excel, even just to move a few things around. It's always: either cut everything, or copy and have to come back and delete. This seems to be the default behavior with cut and copy in Excel. I was just curious if there is a way to modify this behavior, which is why I asked the following question:

Is there a way to cut and paste without affecting the formatting of the cell you're cutting from, or is there a way to copy and paste, and have Excel delete the original automatically?

Yes, I'm sorry about that. At the time, she was the only one that replied, and then I forgot to hit the reply with quote option. I guess I could try editing it.

Thank you for your suggestions and feedback. I do appreciate it.
