It's not a feature I use, but I don't think you can hide it in outline view.

This is from a spreadsheet I got from others, I can easily clicked into 1/2 to show different rows/columns previously set up. Now I am just trying to figure out how to do this...maybe someone will know the name of this function so I can just google?
From the screen shot it appears that the group feature, found on the Data tab, has been applied to rows 11:18.
