So I have to delete "ham" in multiple cells
When I do this it deletes the 3 letters "ham" in southampton so it leaves soutpton
Any idea how to just delete the word in the cells where it is without affecting text in other cells please?

Put spaces either side of it, perhaps: " ham "

Hi Ali Thanks
I tried a couple of things
- spacehamspace (- space not spelled out) it says it cant find anything to replace
if i use " ham " ("spacehamspace" - space not spelled out) it also says it cant find anything to replace
also tried hamspace - no good either
Please attach some sample data.

thanks again
would you like the sheet as well?
It's the workbook I need - I can't test a picture. Instructions at the top of the page.
hope this upload worked
ok done thank you
I'm vary confused. Which 'ham' do you want to replace???
Oh, forget that!
OK - when you open the Find & Replace dialog, there's an option button - open it and tick the box that says "Match entire cell contents". Then you can type just ham and nothing else into the search box.
they are scattered through the sheet first one is B2 second one is c15 etc
also have to replace city
and utd
etc
See post #10.
never knew that was there - thanks very much Ali
it says I have to find some more people to give rep to before I can give any more to you
