Native Excel Date Picker [want date only, not time]

    Hello,

Due to not being able to download other Date Pickers for work-security reasons, I am using the Native Excel Date Picker (Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0) in a few columns in a spreadsheet.

Question: Is there a way to NOT have the Timestamp appear? I only want to see the date. Formatting the cells with Short Date format does not work.

I am seeing only the date by default when I link that control to a cell. Can you provide a sample file that behaves the way you describe?

    See Workbook Attached.

And in all honesty - the date is the only thing that shows when I first bring the date picker onto the sheet. However, once I save the workbook, close it, and then reopen it, the timestamp then becomes part of the date selection.

Go to the Developer tab on the Ribbon
    Go into Design mode
Right click on the control, and select DTPicker Object ► Properties.
For Time, set it to 12:00:00 AM

The date picker is set to a non-default time, and it looks to me like it is writing text to the linked cell instead of date/time value. This will be unaffected by formatting. If you set the time to zero, it seems to fix it.

First - thanks so much for your response.

Here is what I found after following your directions:

    1) Adjusting the Timestamp to 12:00:00 did allow for a Date only input
    2) If you start with an input that already has a Timestamp, it defaults back to a timestamp
    3) When I save, close, and reopen the sheet - it all defaults back to including a Timestamp

Again - thanks for the response - just seems super complicated to try to be able to get a simple Date Picker
