workbook locks after unhiding rows or columns

Hi

Odd excel issue. When I ungroup rows or columns in my excel workbook I can no longer click within the sheet I am locked out. I can still close and save the file and there are no additional error message but no portion of the ribbion, tabs or within the current worksheet are excessible. Also the workboook does not crash when I try and click on different options its just nothing happens. Finally there are no other windows open or text boxes as I have shut down all other programs on the computer.
