Excel 2010 - Data Analysis installed but no window appearing

    Morning All

I'm asking this in behalf of a user. We are running Office 2010 part of Office Professional Plus 1010 (corporate install). We have added both the Analysis Toolpak and Analysis Toolpak - VBA to the add-Ins and have the button on the toolbar, however when we click on the button, we don't get the popup window allowing the user to pick the analysis tool they want to use. Have tried this on a number of PCs (we all run the same version) and it doesn't work on any of them.

Does anyone know what we have to do do make this toolpak work?

    Thanks

Hi bobbie and welcome to the forum.

So you did all the instructions on this link?
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...010021569.aspx

Then, which function are your trying to do on your data? Are you sure it isn't included in the normal function list?
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

Re: Excel 2010 - Data Analysis installed but no window appearing

Morning, thanks for fast reply. Yes, as stated, I have installed both packs as per what was written in the link. The button is on the toolbar, but when the user clicks on the button there is no window that appears with the list of data analysis tools to pick from that appears. Can you please advise how we get that window to appear with the list of tools to pick from. I don't know what tool they are trying to run, all I know is they asked for the data analysis toolbar to be fixed so that it works so they can access it. Thanks.

It seems to me they installed a reduced version of Office or perhaps the Student version. I'd reinstall office and allow the defaults to install.

I hope this fixes the problem.

Hmmm, it is a corporate version of the software which has been packaged so can be installed via MSI when pushed to PC. We don't install from CDs or anything as we have 10000s of PCs with this package installed (government organisation that is statewide). It doesn't prompt to say the add-in has not been installed or needs to be installed when we add the add-on, like it is mentioned on some pages, so that is why I figured they included it in their packaged version. Are you saying that it appears they have not included it in their packaged version? But wouldn't it then have prompted to install that add-on from CD or somewhere?

    Thanks

Thanks for that. I will get the team that manages policy for the department to check as I can't find that policy when I run gpedit.msc.

Actually, that is for when the "data analysis" button doesn't appear on the data tool bar. It does appear there but does nothing when we click it.

It's a long shot, but any chance you figured it out? I'm having the same problem with excel on the laptop my new job gave me and the IT guys have no idea how to fix it.

    [QUOTE=Pepe Le Mokko;5304026]Administrative Note:

What? I asked the OP if he solved his issue and if so how because I'm having the same problem. How could that possibly be considered hijacking the thread?
