    Excel 2010 Automation Installed ?

    Hi,
I'm trying to call excel from our accounting system (dynamics) through automation objects. To use an automation object you create a variable, then browse for the appropriate automation object - unfortunately, Excel 2010 automation objects are not listed. Automation objects appear on other computers for other versions of excel (2003, 2007). Is there anyway to check to see if automation hooks were installed on the excel 2010 computer and/or how do I installed the automation hooks? Thanks,
    MGA

If you are talking about COM automation, then if you have Excel installed, you can automate it, but you may need to set a reference. For Excel, if you need to browse, it ought to be to the Excel.exe
You may also be able to late bind it using CreateObject("Excel.Application") if Dynamics uses VB(A).

I mean COM automation. The problem is that the Excel 2010 COM objects are not showing up as an option. I see a lot of other COM objects (Active X, etc.), but not Excel 2010.

I suspect you would be better off asking in a Dynamics forum. Assuming you did a full office install and that your version of Dynamics is compatible with office 2010, there's nothing else to do from an excel perspective.
