spread sheet takes long time to do anything

I was an expert 123 user back in the day but am not very familial with excel.

I have a spreadsheet that takes and exceptionally long time to do most things. It is a large amount to data but when I began working on it things went acceptably quickly, but now the circle goes round for a long time. Any ideas why and what can be done about it?

You might have lots of calculations that need to refresh with every entry. Try changing calculations to manual and only recalculate before saving or at some interval that you need to see results.

I made a few formulas but then converted the results to Values, so the sheet doesn't have any formulas.
