Administrative Note:

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you want to achieve with the CF.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. No help to be offered until this moderation request has been fulfilled.)

Re: How to do Conditional Formatting based on Criteria

His thread title conveys exactly what he wants to achieve. Conditional Formatting based around a certain criteria.

The criteria is If the cell value (due date) has been exceeded (that is it is less than todays date) then he wants the cell to be red.
If the cell value is within a day of the due date (that is <= todays date +1) he wants it amber
Otherwise (cell value > todays date) he wants the cell to be green.

How does this break rule#1?

So you will need three rules:

=TODAY()>K2

=K2-TODAY()=1

=K2-TODAY()>1

What should happen if today is the due date?

Title was already changed before you felt the need to add irrelevant contributions.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Re: How to do Conditional Formatting based on Criteria

I don't mean to step on any toes or break any forum rules, just want to contribute: the formulas need to have $K instead of just K.

=TODAY()>$K2

=$K2-TODAY()=1

=$K2-TODAY()>1
