Count how many times a date is listed on another sheet based on the date you select

Hi good people

I want to be able to count on sheet 1 (master) how many times a date is listed on sheet 2 (raw) based on the date that I select on sheet 1.

Ideally I wanted a calendar on sheet 1 to select the date I want to count on sheet 2 but it seems that option isn't available in Excel 365 - I'd be glad to be proven wrong.

I've attached a simple sheet showing what I want to achieve. E.g. 1 Aug is entered 2 times on sheet 2 and so on sheet 1 with that date selected I would like it to display a count of 2.
