color multiple cells in a table the same color when any of the items are selected

    hi all

i was wanting to know if there is a way I can color cells when one of the items in my list is selected

i.e my table has drop down boxes in it and i want to change the color when some thing from the list is chosen.

say my list contains monday, tuesday, wednsday, thursday,Friday if any of these are picked it changes to green and in my other list i have jan, feb, mar, apr, may, jun.jul, aug, sep, and if any of these are picked it will turn red

    thanks for your help

Simple conditional formatting should do the job. If you expect more detailed answer, see yellow banner at the top of forum and upload sample file.

I have added an attachment with an example on it,

I think I'm being thick to be honest but I have tried conditional formatting but it will not let me use the list, all I want it to do is if i select any of the months from
the drop down list I would like the cell to turn green and if any of the week days are selected they turn red i can do it in conditional formatting if I just do 1 day, but
do I do multiple different selection to change

thanks I hope I'm not being to thick

Where is dropdown for days of week? In the main part on Table tab all cell contains only months dropdown.

No, they were not. On dropdown were only month's names. Check tab with lists.
