Change a Celll Value & Automatically Change Colour of Cells Below

    Please help,

Having problems with my conditional formatting

On Cell D338, I've tried everything and not sure why it does not work. From the Cell D, I would like to copy the formula across.

E.g. change list to Spanish it should change colour and colour the cells below, however it is not changing colours to the cell below and still not sure why. Please help..

    Attached spreadsheet

    Greatful for the help

Re: Unconditional formatting rule not working

I beg to differ with you. If you were to look up in Google using your title, I am sure you would not be satisfied. Please explain what you are trying to do that is not sufficient. Please re-read my post #2 and try to abide by my request.

Re: Unconditional formatting rule not working

In your Conditional Formatting, if you want cells D340:e351 to change color you'll need to make cell D339 an absolute reference (add the dollar signs) like this:

    =COUNTIF($D$339,"Spanish")>0

We are getting nowhere, so I have done it for you today. However, you must use more descriptive thread titles in future.

    See post #5.

So change the CF by removing the $ before the D and apply it to only column D. Then use the same formula and apply it to column E. Then select both D and E and Copy and paste conditional formats to the other columns.

    Hi

Tried this, not sure if you meant this

Not working, and does not copy across because of the cell reference $

    =COUNTIF(D$339:E$339,"Spanish")>0

    Applies to:
    =$D$339:$E$351,$F$339:$G$339

Re: Change a Celll Value & Automatically Change Colour of Cells Below

Hi Please can anyone help me on this.

    See attached spreadsheet

    On D339

I select the list and select the subject however, its proving very time consuming to copy the conditional formula across.
I want to select subjects and then it should change color of the below cells.

    =COUNTIF(D$339,"Drama")>0

How can I change the formulea so it is easy to copy across to the other cells and the ones below?

    Please help
