SUMIF over multiple separated tables in one sheet

Good day, thanks for giving it a look.

    SUMIF REVISED.png

The image explains better than I can describe in words.

The task is: I want the sum of credits that correspond to the course type.

I have tried using it on a single table and it worked fine, but it seems to have trouble with custom tables that has complex separation.

May I request any pieces of advise on the problem? I have attempted SUMPRODUCT and am currently thinking of SUMIF with VLOOKUP, but it seems difficult to implement.

    Hi there.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. An Excel sheet is worth 1,000 non-editable pictures.

Please read the yellow banner about sample worksheets, at the top of the screen. Act on its guidelines and post a SMALL sample sheet.

I apologize for the misbehavior. The thread has been revised with some simplification efforts.

hahah. it is not misbehaviour. it is just that no-one will want to recreate what you already have in front of you!!!

Thanks for the clever solution! I clearly see the benefit of submitting the sheet haha.

I have a follow-up question after looking at your solution, though.

How would the implementation be if the tables also existed BELOW the given tables, not just NEXT to them? For my case, I solved the problem with your solution by cloning (linking) the tables next to the first row of tables, but is there a way to implement the task without extra cloning?

As long as they're aligned... just extend the ranges. see sheet.

If they're not, I'd really need to see some representative data (as a sheet... not a picture!!) to play with.

This is pure beauty... I thought it was impossible because I couldn't "drag" to extend the ranges, but I realized utilizing dollar signs and manually typing the cells solve the issue....

I am speechlessly thankful for your wisdom, and I can finally go to the bed.

Infinitely grateful for your salvation!!!! Have a nice day!!
