Hi all,
I am just an average excel user so when our subject instructor told us to recreate from scratch an exact copy of the Simple Loan Calculator template in excel as a graded activity, I really had a hard time figuring things out. I did eventually managed to recreate it (barely), including the name manager, the formulas, the pivot table and chart, but as soon as I tried to check if all the things I did worked out exactly as the template, some things didn't.
So, here's the problem I found:
1. The table doesn't automatically resize itself to match the Number of Payments. When I checked the original template, changing the Loan amount and the Loan period in years does automatically cuts off the table relevant to the Number of Payments. The table that I made just changes the numbers but not the table itself. Like, the colors of the tables still remains at the 120th period where I originally made it even though I changed the Loan period in years to generate a Number of payments lesser than 120.
2. Maybe I'm just overthinking but could be the number 1 problem rooted to the formulas I changed when creating the table? When I copied the formulas provided by the original template, it didn't gave me the same results. I've tweaked the formulas in the Payment Date, Payment, Principal, Interest and Ending Balance.
Thank you so much to those who are willing to help.
