Adding Search option to Slicer box

I have a table with 10000 rows and 10 columns, i have added 10 slicers for 10 columns.
I want to have a search box for one of the slicer, i found from youtube videos that if i add a pivot table for that column and keep it above slicer i can do the search
I done the same it is working, but the problem is i want to keep the data, slicers and pivot all in same place, this is causing Error. "A Pivot table report cannot overlap a table", i want to know is there anyway to ignore this error or
any other way to add a search box for the slicer?

Leave 2 empty rows between the slicer and the table.

Why do you need a separate search box, when there is already one for every column of the table - just click the header icon?

The Slicers in Tables and the Slicers in PivotTables are independent of each other.

Re: Adding Search option to Slicer box

Create a PivotTable in the same format as your data, if that's what you wish to see. Then create another PivotTable with only Sub-Category in the Filters field. Create slicers from this second PivotTable, then link the slicers to the first PivotTable.

But seriously why do you need a separate search box, when there is already one for every column of the table.

Re: Adding Search option to Slicer box

    hello josephteh,

I have read this entire threads and tried the file you have provide to yarlachiru.
This is exactly the same technic i wanted to have on my application as well.
I have tried and i can only get a search to a slicers but the data does not filter with the slicer selection.
How did you do the connection between the slicer with a search box and have the data filtered from the slicers selection as the same time ?

Is there a way to add in a search box to a slicer with out using pivot table ?
    Please advise.

    Thanks.
    Michael.
