This is my firsts post here. If this is not the right forum, please advise.

My catalogue of photos is one large Excel spreadsheet. One of the columns contains file names, another column contains folder names, etc.

Once upon a time I decided that new and temporary folders should go to the end in the Win explorer, so they are named with the prefix “zz_”, e.g. “zz_20210602_New_York”. There are thousands of these folder names, all different, but all with the “zz_” in the beginning.

How can I get rid of this prefix? SQL may not be the only way or the right way to do this, but I used it some 30 years ago and think that a query can be written to delete these three characters. I just do not know if this can be done in Excel.

Thank you.
