Date separator

Hi All,

I have a laptop with excel that separates the date with a hyphen (-). When I change it to use a slash (/) it changes it back to a hyphen. Where can I change this? Eg 2021/08/04 will automatically change back to 2021-08-04 and I have to have it with a slash for a csv file format.

have you checked your cell's formatting ( right click - format cells - date) Format as required then enter your date

Yes I have, but the only format that seems to work for this specific .csv format is :
"Format cells - Custom"
and the select dd/mmm/yyyy, but the problem is the there the only option is dd-mmm-yyyy
and it keeps changing back to the hyphen if you change it back to a slash.

Check your Windows date settings... the delimiter is probably set as the dash there.
