Unable to define line variables within a clustered column line chart

Hi everyone, I'm a beginner excel user and am required to create a combo chart with clustered columns and lines from the following data set. The rows X1-X3 in the attachment indicate would be the clustered columns with the horizontal axis being categorised by Virtual or Offsite. However where I experience difficulties is when I attempt to create a line chart with only the supply row at the bottom to overlay over the clustered columns.

The ideal case would be:
Horizontal Axis: Virtual / Offsite
Clustered Columns : Rows X1 - X3
Line: Supply row

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is difficult to know what difficulty you are having without more detail. Assuming I understand what you are trying to do:

1) select the upper left "demand" cell and clear the cell. I don't understand why, but something about Excel's chart engine likes to have the upper left cell blank when creating a chart.
2) select the data range and insert a clustered column chart.
3) because you have more rows than columns, Excel will probably assume you want data on columns with the leftmost column along the horizontal axis. Find the "switch row/column" command and execute.
4) select the "supply" data series on the chart and change it to a line chart.

Is that closer to what you want?
