    Presenting Changes Month over Month

The title is a little misleading, but here is what I have and what I need:

I have employee data (basically the differences by name) of who was in a department January - July 2021 vs 2020.

What I need some help on is presenting this information.

What would be the best way to lay this out so someone can easily see what is changing YoY.

I have attached a sample file for reference.

I suppose I was thinking of a timeline or Gantt charge with all of the names, but I am definitely open to suggestions.

Re: Presenting Changes Month over Month

"Best" is subjective and what is easy to understand often depends on the audience, i.e. with what are they familiar.
It seems to me that one way to display would be to sort the data by the 2020 column, largest to smallest, and then apply conditional formatting to the 1's as modeled on the Pivot sheet.
We may be in a better position to help if you could manually mock up what you want so that we can attempt to replicate using formulas/features/code.

This is very helpful, thank you for taking the time time to address my question.
I suppose I was thinking of doing something almost like a gantt chart where I could map out the overlap of employees time in the department. This replicates the result.

    Thank you again,
