Graph/Table help over time

Hi, I have attached a brief spreadsheet that I need some help on. In the spreadsheet, there are 2 tabs, one of which is a table which is generally what I am after to work sourcing from required information on the data tab. The graph shown is accurate to my needs but I need to work out how to show it against over time, based on the dates in column E. So ideally, what the role was (New or in flight), how we filled it (New contractor, new permanent, temp to perm or existing internal staff) plotted over a period of time. Can be just a month by month to make it easier to show and feel free to suggest an easier way to show what I'm asking. Hope this makes sense and thank you all in advance, I'm only an average excel user and often know what's possibly but barriers on how to make it work, so any help and support would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using one of the newer versions of Excel, (the 2003 version doesn't support the .xlsx file format so it appears that your profile is out of date) then a timeline could be used as modeled in the attached file.
Note that all values in the 'Start date agreed with Portfolio Office?' column will need to be dates or blanks.
