Numbers changing to dates

Hi all,

Thanks in advance. I'm doing some coding for my job and every time I input a number ( just a regular number like "1" or "2" into a cell it changes it to this format:1/1/1900 12:00:00 AM with the day and month as the number I entered in. It's really frustrating and throwing a wrench in my work. How can I fix this?

The cell where you're entering the text has been formatted as a date. Highlight the cell (or cells) where you're entering data, press [Ctrl]+1 and change the Number Category to "General". That should prevent it from changing it to a date.
