    converting to date format

    I have a column of dates formatted as mm/dd/yyyy and I need to convert it into yyyymmdd. How? Thx!

    If the dates are Excel dates (not TEXT) simply Custom Format to "yyyymmdd"

    So I had tried and it does not work. Let me explain a bit further. To start, my date is the output of a formula. Next, I copy and do a Paste Values. I am not sure if that puts it in a number or text format. Then I Custom Format it to "yyyymmdd" and that does not work. Next, I type in the numbers myself and it works. When I say "works" I need for a Bloomberg Excel link to use the two dates to generated the High Price between the two dates and the dates must be in Bloomberg's required format.

    I figured it out but thanks! The answer is =TEXT(A1,"yyyymmdd") where A1 can be the date formatted as "mm/dd/yyyy" of a formula that produces such date
