Cell formatting depending on values in other cells

I want to format cells in Excel depending on values that are input in other cells. The cell should be formatted and produce a picture of a hen. Currently the formatting works but happens right on the cells where the data is input.
I would want the data to be input in A1 to T20 but the formatting to be done in cells Z1 to AS20.

Change the applies to range in ALL eight rules to this: =$AA$1:$AS$20

Then go through each rule and change to a formula rule following this pattern:

=A1=8

Easiest would be to use a formula and base Z1 on the contents of A1 etc. See attached.
