Hi all
I have my original sales figures listed in cells F12:H12
I would like the figures in row F17:H17 to equal or match the amounts in F12:H12
Is there any formula I can use to ensure these amounts equal using a formula?

What are you trying to make equal... The percentage?
Multiply the Updated total against the Original Percentage... This will ensure the exact Percentage is on point. Please Login or Register to view this content.
Is that what you are asking...
How do you get to the updated figure?
do you want it to be EXACT?
F17
copy past to the right...or just copy it and paste it...Please Login or Register to view this content.
Just not sure to what end you are attempting to make these match... why is there a second figure that doesnt match...

Hi
I have attached an updated file so it makes sense.
in row G37:J37 are the original values - i need to match to this.
I am using the percentage in row G3:I3 to make the numbers in G34:I34 split, however my split is not matching row 37 (besides column J).
is there any way to make the percentage jive so the amounts in the split equal the original amount?
thxs so much
g10=$C10*G$3*1000
try above formula, copy and paste across

This isn't clear at all, at least to me.
Please explain clearly what you are trying to do. Comments like "what % do I use to make IT match row 11". "Need to match these values"
What is "It". Why just row 11? What needs to match 'These values" ..etc
Please manually create the results you expect to see and indicate the data and %s on which the results are based.
You've got a -1,000,000 in H32 and J32 but nothing in C32 which seems inconsistent.

hi Richard
Yes, sorry for the confusion.
The 1M is only for Utah. However, the main issue I am facing is to try to match to row 37. Column C contains the totals. I am asked to create the split and i just have the total amounts to match the original.
so im trying to match the values in row 34 to equal row 37.
Sorry but I'm not much wiser.
Are you trying to populate the table in F10:J32 so that the row 34 totals equal the row 37 totals.
If so then in G10 copied down and across to I31, with J10 being the sum of G10:I10
=$C10/$C$34*G$37
However since Column C doesn't contain the $1m the H34 total will not agree.
Your column C is an issue. You have no indication of what that value represents. I can see that it represents thousands through deduction, but you leave us with a number like 1874.285... without any context.
Lets toss that aside,
Where did this MIX come from in Row 2. That is the culprit of your entire issue. You are attempting to break out values based on figures that are not the end goal... it only begs to reason that the results would not be the desired output.
The Percentages should be
50.20% 29.36% 20.44%
Beyond that your OTHERS is the next issue... You say -1M from Utah, when you should probably be allocating it based on the split... that shift will be to the PENNY.
But we need to understand where this MIX came from... you have an ORIGINAL with a percentage output that I offered above, and then a new MIX that is not aligned with it...
