How to reformat extracted PDF data into my preferred table

    Hello all,

I have data that I extracted from PDF (Attachment: Counts_for_this_Week 1), but it does not extract like it looks in PDF. The proper way for it to be extracted would look like Attachment: Counts_for_this_Week 2.
Is there a way to reformat Attachment: Counts_for_this_Week 1 to look like Attachment: Counts_for_this_Week 2?

Now the next question I have would be how to rearrange the date to look like Attachment: Counts_for_this_Week 3

Thanks in advance if any of the excel gurus can help with this.

When you extract the pdf... does the output ALWAYS start in A1 and finish in column H?

Are you still using Excel 2013?

Yes, starts in A1 and finishes in H.

    Yes, still using 2013.

    Thanks!

I have a sheet for you to look at. I have taken the starting point and you now have soemthing EXTREMELY close to the end point. How does it look to you??

There are differenrt formulae in each shaded column. Happy to (try to) explain...

This is the one that does all the hard work:

    =IFERROR(INDEX(FILTERXML("<A><B>"&SUBSTITUTE(INDEX('Table 1'!$A:$A,(1+9*INT((ROWS(A$2:A2)-1)/4)))," ","</B><B>")&"</B></A>","//B[count(node())>0]"),1+MOD(INT((ROWS(A$2:A2)-1)/2),2)),"")

Incidentally, do NOT copy the formula from the post. Copy it from the file. There are a number of spaces in the formula that the forum platform removes. There are vitally important!!

Re: How to reformat extracted PDF data into my preferred table

Step 1: Open the PDF file

In Adobe Acrobat Pro DC > File > Open

Step 2: Locate the table from which you want to extract data and drag a selection over the table as shown below

Step 3: Right-click and select ?Export Selection As??

Step 4: Choose the export type

The OP is not asking how to export the data from the PDF.
