Re: Show Logarithmic Variable Ruler on Chart

    See attached file.

I did 4 steps (all presented as charts in the attachment):
    1) added series as scatterplot (xy)
    2) added data labels and fromatted them to be on the left of the point
    3) added (from Chart Desing ribbon) error bars and formatted them as plus only, with no Caps and constant value of 3 (as the number of your points
    4) deleted original vertical axis labels

You can do some more formatting, like hiding data points for this extra series, adding vertical line (at the step of creation of original chart you removed it), etc.

Re: Show Logarithmic Variable Ruler on Chart

    Hello
    I appreciate of your answer
but it does not answer to my question
please look at the below link :
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/screenruler/
Ruler tool for measuring in pixels, centimeters, inches and points
"it means use for STATIC Scale or FIXED Scale"
but I need variable scale "Dynamic scale"
please imagine : "Rectangle Shape Height divided by 100% in logarithm"
Height of that Rectangle Shape can be masure variable scale from 0 to 100% in logarithmic

You must have used a manual ruler in school, it can be show cm, mm and inch but in static scale
I need percentage logarithm in variable scale "dynamic scale"

    Thank you very much

Re: Show Logarithmic Variable Ruler on Chart

You can also make not a second series, but separate chart, then make it's background no-fill and use it as a moveable (and formatable) ruler.

To move it click on one of the lines and then a border of a chart shows up. you can drag the ruler to any position. But it is still a manual measurement. I have not checked how the software from the link you posted works - may be it suits you, then ... just use it, it's dedicated to the task, while in Excel we have to do "workarounds".

Re: Show Logarithmic Variable Ruler on Chart

    Sure,

Select a chart with the ruler, add (we removed it before) verical axis from the ribbon Chart Design, then select for formatting Vertical axis in Format on a ribbon and format this axis to be both logarytmic and reverse order and finally click on one of this axis labelks to select all labels (and axis) and delete it.

See in attached workbook how it looks like.

And on the screenshot where the options are located in the interface.
