Formatting of copied range changes when pasting to a different workbook

    Hello,

I receive files from customers which formatting, eg a yellow background. When I copy that and paste into a new workbook sometimes the background changes to a different color. On other occasions the cells can have no interior color but get one when pasted.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this or know what causes it?

The only thing that springs to mind is Conditional Formatting.

I checked and there is no conditional formatting. In fact source file appears to have no formatting at all, but when pasted the black-text-on-while background becomes green-text-on-red-background.
The file originates from Europe so maybe that has something to do with it.
