Conditional Formatting - Applying similar CF to different columns

On my Worksheet I want to CF my "Completed" columns dependent on whether the Inspection carried out is on time, or late.

Other than adding CF to Column D, then adding another CF to Column G, etc, is there any way to add CF to Columns D, G, J, M, etc, so that Column D looks to Column C, Column G looks to Column F etc

What I am after is the following:

D2 to have 2 x CF applied: C3<D3 (Red); C3>=D3 (Green) and these applied to all entries in D
    Then
G2 to have 2 x CF applied: F3<G3 (Red); F3>=G3 (Green) and these applied to all entries in G
and the same but relevant to J, M, P etc

    Hey,

Is this what you was looking for?

    Inspections.xlsx

There's a keyboard shortcut you can use to activate the Format Painter in Excel. Simply press Ctrl+Shift+C to copy the formatting, and then press Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the formatting.

Re: Conditional Formatting - Applying similar CF to different columns

Thank you Diana, but I am not sure what is going on with the CF but some of the "Completed" turns green if ONE of the completed dates dates is earlier than the corresponding planned dates, yet in others it stays red unless ONE date in the completed column is less than it's corresponding planned date.

What I am after is the completed date to turn either red or green, depending on how the date compares with the planned date.
    So
If D2<C2 green, If D2>C2 red, If cell is blank, no colour, then this replicating to the rest of Column D, and then Column G dates using Column F to compare, etc.

I have added the worksheet to this post, with an area of how I would expect the colours to appear if they were CF'd.

    Regards
    Darryl

I modified the area to which the rule applies and completed it with the condition for empty cells, changing the colors as required

    Hi Diana

I have had a request or an alteration to the CF, but I am not entirely sure if it is at all possible. Rather than just Red and Green they are after a RAG rating. Red - late by 14 days or more. Amber - Within 2 weeks of the planned date. Green On date or early.
