Please help me how to automate this file, kindly take a look on cell C6 to see the formula

    Hello there, Team.

Please assist me in determining how to simplify the formula. Please see cell C6, I just wanted to automate every time I will a new customer.

. To get the total, divide the resource allocation value by the grand total value and multiply it by the total billing amount (for each customer, = (Resource Allocation / Grand Total Value) * Billing Amount, then add it all up to get the total.) However, it must meet the following criteria:

We will only add it if your name appears in the resource allocation. For example - Subodh on cell c6

    Thank you very much.

    Welcome to the Forum artart!

Cell C6 is a blank cell.

Please don't just attach a file and ask us to "automate" it. Explain what your data means, what process you want to automate, and give an example of what result you want to get.

Your title does not really summarize your question. Once you revise your post to give a detailed explanation of what help you need, then the title should be updated so someone reading the title has some idea as to whether they can help provide a solution.

    One area:

    in G7

    =(($B7*$D7)/144)*G$4

    Copy across and down
If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED.

If you can take a look the cell C6, you will understand my problem sir. Is there a way how to automate this every time I put a new customer.? =(IFERROR((C117/C129*C119),"0")+(IFERROR((C132/C137*C134),"0"))+(IFERROR((C140/C145*C142),"0"))+(IFERROR((C150/C153*C148),"0"))+(IFERROR((C158/C161*C156),"0"))+(IFERROR((C166/C168*C164),"0"))+(IFERROR((C178/C181*C180),"0"))+(IFERROR((C184/C189*C186),"0"))+(IFERROR((C219/C224*C221),"0")))+(IFERROR((C241/C248*C247),"0")(IFERROR((C251/C257*C253),"0"))+IFERROR((C322/C327*C324),"0")+IFERROR((C272/C277*C274),"0")+IFERROR((C280/C284*C282),"0")+IFERROR((C293/C297*C295),"0")

Your last post has a formula which bears no correlation to the file posted which has no references to customers. So was the correct file posted????

I will repeat: C6 is completely blank. The file you attached has nothing to do with customers or the formula in your post.

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. As you are new here I have done it for you this time.)

Re: Please help to simplify a formula

IMO you will need VBA to make this dynamic because of the variability of data per customer PLUS you have hard-coded your formulae:

    For example in C4: =(C119+C134+C142+C150+C158+C166+C180+C186+C221+C247+C253+C324)/C2

so the addition of a customer for Subodh (or any other rep) will require all "his" formula to be changed.

Not an insignificant piece of work
