Link to excel from powerpoint

Hi

I understand that if I select specific cells in Excel and use Copy and Paste Special, I can link to those cells from Powerpoint. However, the link only works when I am not in presentation mode. How do I click on the link during a presentation and call up the Excel file? How do I change the image of the cells into an icon instead?

Open the Excel File
Open the Excel file that you are working on, and click on the “Insert”> “Object” option.

Select the PowerPoint File
After clicking on the “Object” menu, a window will pop up, and then you need to click on the “Create from file” tab since you are importing a PowerPoint file that already exists. Next, you can click on “Browse” to select your file.

Insert the PowerPoint File
Now a window pops up, and you can select the PowerPoint file you want to import and then click “Insert”. After finishing choosing, you can click "OK".
Right click on Link to file & click on "ok"

Thanks for your reply. I want to create a link to the excel file from powerpoint. Your solution seems to be the other way around.

Right-mouse-click on the link to edit it, then select the file to link.
