Unresolved Worksheet

My workbooks are all in the directory with a format of C:\Users\xxx\Spreadsheets\...
I have one in particular (Banking.xlsx) that has links to another (Tax.xlsx) in the same directory. The links are also in the same format.
I have uploaded the workbooks to Google Drive so that I have access to them on the move. However, when opening Tax.xlsx in Google Drive, the cells with a link (to Banking.xlsx) are showing #REF! and do not show the full directory link, merely the spreadsheet cell reference. The comment with these errors is "unresolved worksheet".
Can anyone please suggest how I might resolve this problem.

Thanks Trevor - very comprehensive document.
Actually, I don’t feel any further forward for a number of reasons.
I'm assume from that, as I am wanting to reference between two different workbooks, I need the IMPORTRANGE function.
However, I haven't been able to adapt the suggested syntax to my needs.
The function seems to require a range of cells, but I need to reference a single cell. (It may be that A1:A1 would work).
Also, at one point, I got a "permission needed" alert which, considering they are all "owned" by me, is rather confusing.
Also, if the cells need to be referenced from within the version in Google Sheets, surely this would mean that every time a new version was uploaded from the main source,
(which could be as often as every week), they would all have to be referenced again each time.
Perhaps I should be looking for an easier solution!

I don't really use Google Sheets so I can't offer practical help. That said, if you want one cell, I suspect you can just specify one cell, so A1 or A1:A1.

The other thought is to use something like OneDrive but I don't know if that would be any easier.
