Take a look at advanced filter or why not just use a Pivot Table and place the Shift and Date in the filter area.

In my actual spreadsheet, a pivot table won't work as ultimately the data is going to a summary tab feeding into PowerBI. This is going to be used by shift operators and I am trying to make it as simple as possible so they simply have to choose DAYS or NIGHTS and it will filter by the date (TODAY) and the shift. This way they will only see the rows pertinent to that shift and won't inadvertantly put data in the wrong rows. Not to mention I'm curious if it is possible
The advanced filter kind of works but it doesn't auto filter. I'm not sure it is possible, but figured this was the place to ask.
Well, if they simply have to just choose DAYS or NIGHTS, then why not let the user simply filter from the headers of the data. It seems we could look at some elaborate way to do this, but sometimes KISS applies.
There is a little more to it, and were simply trying to let them change things in one area. They are not computer people, so we are trying to simplify as much as possible. I can just have them filter, but was still curious to know if there is a way to automize it. If not that's fine.
Perhaps using a parameterized query as modeled in the attached file and explained in the linked video tutorial would do what you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2yBpiITvI
Note that an extra step is needed for the Date table (see power query advanced editor).
