    char formula

    the formula =CHAR(COLUMN()+96) only works thru z
    is there a formula than works 2+ column letters

    O I understand what you mean.

    You want a formula that returns the column reference as a string.

    This formula works until zz (for 702 columns)

    Please try in A1 and copy right

    Your formula will not work for the OP as they are using 2010.
    @Fluff your formula in post #4 returns CS in column A
    Yes I know, that because the OP was adding 96 to the column number so I did the same.

    The OP add 96 in the CHAR function, because he wants 'a' in column A and so on.

    @Fluff you are right, the formula of post #5 works only in Excel 365 and I also need a SUBSTITUTE.

    This formula should work in EXCEL 2007 and newer:
