Conditional Formatting from a separate range?

I am guessing this is simple, but I cannot seem to find a good example when trying to search.

    See attached example.

Picture two columns. One of Blanks. One of numbers or values. I want say all the values in the second column to be grayed out as their actual value is added in the first column.

I think conditional formatting does this but I'm having a hard time achieving this.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Matt

That works exactly as I described but I tried to make a more "dummy" format to show than the actual thing I'm trying to accomplish because I did not want to publically share that info.

If I PM you could you look and I can explain?

You should not share sensitive information with anyone here. You don't know who any of us are.

You will need to desensitise the workbook and share it, or a subset of it, here.

Here is a reasonably edited version of what I'm doing.

I put a text box with a note on there explaining.

    Please try CF-rule =ISNUMBER(MATCH(R10,C$10:C$22,0)) applies to $R$10:$T$22

Note: I have also included the Last Name and Number in the formula in the attached example,
because that might come in handy when 2 players with the same first name play.

If you don't want to, adjust the apply-area accordingly.
