    convert json file to excel

    Hi,

    I would like to convert a json file with a list of Skype chats to an excel file. I did the following:
    I opened Excel to the Data tab and navigated to Get Data > From File > From JSON.
    I selected the json file > Excel then opens the Power query editor > i selected "to table"
    Excel then created a table with 2 columns and 3 rows. The cel in the second column and third row states "list". When i click on this cel there appears a list on the lower side of the screen, as shown in the screenshot.
    What di i need to do in order to create the excel file with all the Skype conversations to be visible in a table?


    Any input is much appreciated!

    Please provide a DUMMY JSON file in the same format and I'll see if I can talk you through it.

    Thank you for your help! The file contains privacy related data so unfortunately i can't post the file. I have uploaded a dummy file, maybe you can show it with this file?

    No - not at all. That's just a two-cell table with nothing in it!

    My understanding is that a JSON file is a sort of .txt file. Are you able to save a copy of the JSON file (NOT as an Excel file, but a .txt file), open it in Notepad and replace sensitive data with dummy data and then upload that here?

    That's not producing anything like what's in your screenshot above, I am afraid. It was a good idea, but it didn't work. Sorry!
