    Can't get Developer tab

I want to create a macro, but i have no Developer tab (recently got Microsoft 365).
Googled how to add it, but it says to go to FILE select OPTIONS and then select CUSTOMIZE RIBBON then select DEVELOPER.
But after go to OPTIONS and select that, I get no menu; just goes back to the spreadsheet.

    Re: Can't get Developer tab

That is the right way: Click File--> Options --> Customize ribbon --> Put Checkmark in developer

Yeah. Those are the instructions I got when I Googled this, but when I click FILE and then OPTIONS I don't get those menus. It just reverts to the Spreadsheet.

    Re: Can't get Developer tab

You could also try right clicking any of the ribbon headers and selecting "Customize Ribbon" from there.

I've tried that too. I right click a tab in the ribbon and the click on CUSTOMIZE RIBBON in the drop down. The drop down disappears, but no other options appear.

Does pressing the Mac alternative to Alt+F11 open the VBA window for you?

    Opt + F11 or Fn + Opt + F11?

    Re: Can't get Developer tab

The confusion there lies because your profile shows you're using "Excel for Mac"!

JUst press Alt+F11, does that open the VBA window?

    Administrative note
Is your forum profile showing the Excel PRODUCT that you need this request to work with?

The best solutions often rely on knowing WHICH Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File/Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your version is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel PRODUCTS are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the Version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 (PC) Version 2211). The version number is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Re: Can't get Developer tab

You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling Excel then. Sounds like an iffy install to me.

    Re: Can't get Developer tab

I definitely do not WANT to uninstall and reinstalll, but that does seem to be the next logical step. I hope it goes better than other things have recently. Thanks.

Then if a reinstall hasn't helped, I'm out of ideas and consulting my crystal ball I can see a conversation with Microsoft in your near future...

    Sorry!
