Daily Updates from Four Tabs Based on Dates

    Hi,

I inherited a weekly staffing report (on the first tab) that is updated daily from the data shown on the next four tabs. I would like the data to populate automatically. At first, I did a simple cell reference in each cell

    'January HPPD - 2023'!B46

but that is extremely tedious. Then I tried to use vlookup by first changing the data in the date column on the January tab from numbers to dates. I used vlookup on the first unit on the January tab. I then realized that I would have to do a vlookup for each unit for each month. Is there an easier way to get the data to populate automatically on the first tab? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Probably not... the raw data are a mess. Nine separate data blocks per month, 12 months per year.

I did tidy up the formulae (in purple) HK54 and thereabouts, to make copy pasting easier.

The BIGGEST problem, however, is your raw data. It's so badly organised!

Building on Glenn's reply, the need to hard-code the month tabs could be addressed using INDIRECT: HOWEVER, this is a volatile function and really should be avoided as it will undoubtably result in performance problems, especially given the number of formulae used.

    example for January

    in HL54 and copy down:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
