3 conditions in an IF statement using the AND or OR function - Help needed

I am hoping that someone can assist me with populating a timeline to showcase certain events.

I have four events that occur at different points on the timeline, and I would like to highlight them with a text outcome.

These events are related to commercial property lease events such as rent reviews, break option dates, and lease expiry.

I have attached an Excel document where I have manually typed out how I want these events to appear after the formula is added based on the dates in C3:F3.

My timeframe is in quarters which I need to keep in this format. For example, cell H2 reads as 01/01/2023, which refers to the time period from 01/01/2023 to 31/03/2023 and so on.

I was able to get the start of a formula for one condition which reads as =IF(IF(AND(($F3<=I$2-1),($F3>=H$2)),"B","")="B", "B",IF(AND(($C3<=I$2-1),($E3>=H$2)),"-","")) but I need to have three more conditions based on the dates in D5, D6 & E3

Why are you using dates in May when there is no May on the timeline? You need to explain rules for where things should go if there's no matching month.

So can dates in columns C to F be anything other than the first of the month?

You've given us just one row of sample data - it's really not enough - and I am sorry to say that your thread title is dreadful (it tells us nothing useful about the problem you have set us - it doesn't even allude to it properly - and really needs changing and making more specific).

Nested IFs may not be the best approach, but we need more sample data.

No, it isn't, and for future reference, a good title should tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done (which may not be the best approach). Never mind.

So, to ask again, can dates in columns C to F be anything other than the first of the month?
