I need a simple formula to count a value in a single column range. For example, I am trying to count the number of times the value of "C" is in a specific column range but the formula keeps showing a value of 0. The range of column V is defined as text. The value of "C" does appears multiple times in the defined column range. I am using the following formula: =COUNTIF(V2:V140,”C”)
Appreciate any assistance.

=COUNTIF(V2:V140,"*c*")
