    Simple Logic

    I'm a treasurer for two small associations and use excel for my accounts.

    The problem I have this: I wish to look at a cell value, and if its value is positive to the value of 0.01 or greater, then the second cell must show half its actual value whilst the first cell continues to be 0.01 or greater.

    I have tried various combinations but continue to fall foul of syntax etc.

    Probably a simple solution but not too me at the moment.

    Regards,

    John S

    Welcome to the forum.

    Not sure I follow you, but a cell can contain EITHER a value OR a formula, but not both. YOu might need VBA for this, however there are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

    A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    2nd attempt:
    For example
    Cell C28 contains a simple formula that displays a result.

    Cell G28 also contains a simple formula that displays a result.

    IF Cell C28 displays a value of 0.01 or greater, then the value of G28 must be halved.

    Re: Simple Logic

    In that case it needs to be incorporated into the formula in G28.

    What are the two formulae used?

    Something like:

    =your_formula/IF(C28>=0.01,2,1)
