    Help with formula

    Hello.

    Can someone please assist me with this delima?

    I am summarizing payroll charges to bank register. However, one of the formulas that is being used to identify other charges are
    picking up some of the payroll charges. See below..

    I have attached the sample workbook...

    I hope I am explaining my delima clear enough.

    My formula for Operational -split- is picking up the
    payroll transactions with -SPLIT- in the split column
    that populates all of the other totals.

    I wish to exclude those figures because they are
    already included in the payroll (PR) total.

    Not really sure I understand, but perhaps your formula in col N could be adapted to...
    =IF(I3="-split-","",LEFT(I3,4))
