    Grouping Columns

Hello. I'm trying to create multiple groups of columns with multiple headers but seem to be having some trouble. Here's the end goal. Columns A-D...all for January. Columns E-H...all for February. Columns I-L...all for March. And so on and so forth. The goal is to have several little groups of about 4 columns that I can Hide/Unhide by clicking on a header. Is this possible? I would greatly appreciate any help. Tks.

    Re: Grouping Columns

There is a "grouping" function under the Data tab on the ribbon that you could use for this.

Ii you've already explored that option and it's not suitable then it's possible with VBA, but you're going to have to provide a little more information and, ideally, an example workbook.

The way I'm interpreting your request is, A1:D1 says "Jan", E1:H1 says "Feb" etc. as headers, and if you click in any cell in A1:D1 for example it will hide rows A:D. That bit is easy. However you also mention unhiding them with the same method of clicking in that range and I don't understand how you're expecting to do that if they're already hidden.

Perhaps I'm just misinterpreting the ask, but a little more info would be very useful.

Are you still using XL 2010 ? If not please amend your profile accordingly (newer versions have newer functions). Thx

    Re: Grouping Columns

Thank you all for the replies. Addressing all of the questions. Pretty sure I'm on Office 2019 now...will get that updated accordingly. Please see attached for sample workbook. I'm trying to group the like columns so that I can hide/unhide them by clicking on a header if possible. And I have attempted the grouping function but I have never used it before so I'm not sure if I'm not doing it correctly or if it just does not work the way that I would like it to. The first set of columns group fine but then i'm not able to create a second NEW group. Everything get's lumped together with the first original group. Thanks again for all of the help.

    Re: Grouping Columns

You would need to have a blank column between each of the groups, otherwise the little +/- icon would be hidden when the group is collapsed.

    See attached.
