Question Change Columns in Excel Table Based on Formula

    Hi,

I'm working with a group that would prefer we use excel tables for one of our reports. So far it worked well in 2023 as our columns were 2023-2027. Now I need to change the start column to be 2023 or 2024 based on the project and others to follow. Normally this would be simple with setting formulas, but as soon as I set an excel table header to be based on a formula excel defaults the value to "0".

I'm sure I could work something out with VBA, but otherwise is there a simple way to have table names change based on a formula?

Possible, but without more information it is difficult to advise.

Fast answers need visual help. Please read the yellow banner at the top of this page on how to attach a file and a mocked up solution.

it would have to be a fudge: you could switch table headers off and put your formulae in a row above the table.

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

Is your forum profile showing the Excel PRODUCT that you need this to work for?

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your product is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel products are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 Version 2306). This is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Thanks.
