Unable to open application in design view - exel 365

Hi Im not a complete newbie. But its been decades since Ive created apps in Excel and Access so I've forgotten most of what I knew once and I'm exhibiting my rustiness.

    * So I've created an app which opens a login form which on successful login closes and opens a full screen menu user form.

    * I have removed the red CLOSE button from the form with the windows API...so it does not appear on the form.

    * There is cmd button with the on_click event coded to quit the application. However, there is no code behind any of the other menu buttons yet.

    * So now I can open the application, login and quit the application. But I cannot get to the worksheets or the code at all.

Question: Is it possible to open the excel application file in a design mode similar to MS Access?

Do you want to open it in "design mode" for a specific user only, or give all users the option to open it either that way or with your userform?

Would it be possible to see a desentised version of your file?

Thanks for your reply. The primary reason for the post is that I am unable to actually get into the details of the application...to view the code, add and change forms, etc. I'm effectively locked out of the app.

I open the app, log in, the menu opens up...and all I can do is close the app. I realize what my mistake was. But what can I do about it. I.e., can I open the workbook in design mode from the file? Like MS Access?

    Thanks.

Open a new instance of Excel, with no file opened. Select "Open" and browse to where the file is. Select the file then hold Shift and click Open.
Keep Shift held down whilst the file opens and it should prevent any code running, like the workbook open event.

That should allow you to get into the VBA window to make amendments.
