Can you Store attachments in Excel

Hello,

someone at my work has said that you can store attachments in Excel. Like drag and drop emails and other files in related to a particular row of data to a cell on that row so you end up with a database and the related documents.

Never heard of this. Is it possible?

I think the point is to create a list of transaction data and keeps related files and emails invoices etc available. The excel file will be on a server and available to many people.
