Post Power Query, connection only data

I have a Power Query connection only query, which holds 2 columns of data (created via a merge on other queries). An address reference and a spend value.

In my worksheet I have some other data, and a formatted structure. One of the columns has the same address reference list, and I need to get the spend value from the query into the worksheet. With it being connection only, is there a simple way to do this?

Thanks. New to PQ, so, much of it still a mystery!

Why do you want to di it with PQ?

if you want to do it in Excel you can use either:
    =VLOOKUP(A5;H:I;2;0) or =INDEX(I:I;MATCH(A5;H:H;0))

Re: Power Query, connection only data

I use excel daily for work, so vlookup works fine, but we now work with a datalake of all information, and connect to it via Power Query. The end result is to refresh the template and have a customer friendly version ready to go, so doing it within PQ saves time and is cleaner.

How do I use this? Very new to Power Query, so assume I'm an idiot (Not too far from the truth!). Do I add a custom column and add this as the formula? How then does it get to the excel spreadsheet? Or is this formula pushing it there? Not working until Monday so not had a chance to try this out yet.

Power Query is a free AddIn for Excel 2010 and 2013, and is built-in functionality from Excel 2016 onwards (where it is referred to as "Get & Transform Data").

It is a powerful yet simple way of getting, changing and using data from a broad variety of sources, creating steps which may be easily repeated and refreshed. I strongly recommend learning how to use Power Query - it's among the most powerful functionalities of Excel.
