    Disappearing Text

    Guys,

Hope you can help, this should be an easy one for a lot of you i think!

Say i have text in cell D11.

I want that to disappear if i type anything at all into cell C4...letters or numbers.

Can anyone help with this formula please?

    Thanks people..

    Re: Disappearing Text

    Welcome to the forum.

Which version of Excel are you using?

Not with a formula - maybe conditional formatting.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. The sample layout accurately matches that of your real data. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

Use conditional formattung to turn the font colour in D11 to white, when C4 is non-blank using thsi as the CF rule:

    =$C$4<>""

Glenn thanks so much for this help. It seems so easy now but i hadn't used conditional formatting before. Thanks again.

There isn't as long as you disclose it. Please read the forum rules page.

Which version of Excel are you using? Your forum profile needs correcting, please. 10 is Windows, not Excel. Thanks.
