    Lightbulb Calculate XNPV with blanks

I need a dynamic way to calculate the net present value of lot contracts instead of having to manually click and drag the referenced cells. In the attachment, values and dates calculate/fill if they meet certain criteria, if not, they're left blank "".

I found an older post that uses the offset function, but I don't know how to apply it to my model. It won't let me post the link because I'm new, but I can direct you.

    Thank you!

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

Is your forum profile showing the Excel PRODUCT that you need this to work for?

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your product is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel products are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 Version 2306). This is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Thanks.

    1. There is no need to adjust the range for XNPV formula as zero cash flow for subsequent periods will simply be ignored.
    2. If the discount rate is per annum basis, you need to divide it by 12 in your XNPV formula.

Thank you!! What was your thought process behind the QUOTIENT function? I've never seen that before.

QUOTIENT is the opposite of MOD. It is similar to INT: QUOTIENT(10,3)=INT(10/3). It takes the integer part of the division.
